God is always on our side. Right?

"I can't understand how all this could have happened, it's enough to make one lose one's faith in God!" (Eva Braun). Apr, 1945.
Is this the face of the enemy? There is too much killing going on. Is God on our side? Or have we in our lust for power and wealth, become the devil's slave. There are more Iraqi blogs HERE.

Is there a need for someone to die for our sins?
Psalms 32:
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
2. Blessed is the man to whom Yahweh does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3. When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long.
4. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah
5. I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, "I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh,"
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
6. For this cause everyone who is saintly shall pray to You
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters they shall not come near him.
7. You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
8. [Yahweh answers,] “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
9. Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.”
10. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But he who trusts in Yahweh, mercy shall surround him.
11. Be glad in Yahweh and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!)

Another translation of the same Psalms 32

A Psalm of David. Maschil. Happy is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is pardoned.

32:2 Happy is the man unto whom the Lord counteth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

32:3 When I kept silence, my bones wore away through my groaning all the day long.

32:4 For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me; my sap was turned as in the droughts of summer. Selah

32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid; I said: 'I will make confession concerning my transgressions unto the Lord' --and Thou, Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah

32:6 For this let every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; surely, when the great waters overflow, they will not reach unto him.

32:7 Thou art my hiding-place; Thou wilt preserve me from the adversary; with songs of deliverance Thou wilt compass me about. Selah

32:8 'I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will give counsel, Mine eye being upon thee.'

32:9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding; whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, that they come not near unto thee.

32:10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked; but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy compasseth him about.

32:11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
